Scholarships at UAF

Earn support with UAF’s merit-based Nanook Pledge Scholarship and 500+ university scholarships.

UAF Wants to Invest in You

Whether or not you're an Alaskan resident, you can earn funds for your education at UAF through scholarships.

When you're admitted to UAF, you'll automatically be considered for the Nanook Pledge (merit-based) and Alaska Adventure Award, which are renewable and offer four years of reliable funding. There's no additional application for these awards. You'll also have the opportunity to submit an application for UAF's annual Foundation Scholarships each year before February 15. Foundation Scholarships are smaller and typically offer just one year of additional funding. Don't miss out on these scholarship opportunities!

Scholarships for Alaska Residents

Alaska residents have scholarships available to them based on residency. Browse the potential savings you could earn by studying in your home state.

Scholarships for Nonresidents

Not from Alaska? You can still afford to come to UAF. Between merit- and need-based scholarships, and the discounted WUE tuition rate for qualifying students, this out-of-state school is more affordable than you might think.

Meet Caden Albright

Scholarship Recipient

"I chose UAF because the smaller university community feels homey and allows me to better connect with my professors and peers. A secondary reason is thanks to the in-state funding, which eases the financial burden some. The funding I’ve received via the Nanook Pledge has helped immensely in decreasing what I have to pay later on. My favorite thing about UAF is also the reason I chose to attend — The small community (at least, smaller than many lower-48 universities)  makes it easier to feel connected to those around you."

— Caden Albright, Nanook Pledge Recipient
