Larissa was raised in rural Alaska and moved to ²ÊÉñix¹ÙÍø in 2018 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at UAF.  She began as a student worker at the UA Museum of the North while attending UAF and started with the Office of the Registrar in 2022 after graduating.  Larissa is part of the Degree Services team helping students with all things graduation, understanding DegreeWorks, and assisting students to make changes to their degree.  As a part of Degree Services, Larissa works closely with academic advisors, department admins, and the Graduate School.  If you have questions about anything with Graduation, making changes to your degree, or DegreeWorks don’t hesitate to reach out to Larissa and the rest of the Degree Services team.

Logan Hertzler is your Communications Coordinator at UAF’s Office of the Registrar. In his role, he is dedicated to ensuring seamless communication across all facets of the department. Whether it's delivering vital information to various departments or serving as the go-to resource for students, instructors, and parents, he's here to make sure everyone stays connected. Khaleesi started her service dog training and higher education experience at about 6 weeks old. She has been a service dog for 9 going on 10 years and is coming up on retirement age. She has worked in higher education with her handler for her entire life and has enjoyed all the places work has taken her. Khaleesi has traveled to several higher education institutions, conferences, and all of the UAF campuses. Khaleesi was born in Montana but has spent most of her life as an Alaskan adventure dog.

²ÊÉñix¹ÙÍø is Stephanie’s hometown, and UAF has been a welcoming presence for her as an attendee of Fine Arts Camp, classes, church services and community events throughout her life. In 2004, she began in the Summer Sessions Office before transitioning to Advancement Services, the UA Foundation, and has served in the Registrar’s Office since 2011. Stephanie is a Records Analyst and can assist with questions about enrollment verifications, grading and transcripts.

Stephanie is a member of the Northwoods Book Arts Guild, enjoys fly fishing in the summer, and being a dog mom. She founded the Warren G. Brown Memorial Scholarship with family and friends in memory of her brother. Warren’s scholarship aids UAF undergraduate and graduate students who have a passion for music performance and becoming a music educator.

UAF brought Jasmine to Alaska from the East Coast for her undergraduate studies. After graduating in 2010 with her BA in English and Theater, she worked as a victims advocate, a legal advocate, and in real estate title insurance. Jasmine was self-employed for several years; first as a full-time yoga instructor, including teaching recreation classes at UAF, and then as a fiber artist with a global clientele. 

Jasmine returned to UAF in 2021 to pursue an AAS in Paralegal Studies. She began in the Office of the Registrar as a student worker before transitioning into her current staff position. She is passionate about student success and the transformative potential of higher education.

Jasmine serves as a Degree Services Specialist, part of your go-to team for changes of major or minor, adding or dropping degree programs, questions about DegreeWorks, and all things Graduation. She looks forward to celebrating with you at Commencement! 

When not on campus, Jasmine can be found reading with her kiddos, gardening in the summer, or weaving, spinning, knitting, and dyeing yarn and fiber.

The pandemic brought Kelly and her family back to ²ÊÉñix¹ÙÍø after 17 years in Alabama. With a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a passion for helping people, Kelly quickly discovered The Office of the Registrar was a perfect fit. From working with students, faculty, and other staff, she quickly found that her day to day interactions felt more like being with family than work.

After her husband’s job moved them to Michigan late in 2023, Kelly has continued her work with the department on a part-time basis assisting with records and registration, and various projects.

Fun facts: Kelly enjoys baking, bargain-shopping, discovering new restaurants, and has an intense love for music dating back to her job as a DJ at a popular nightclub in Louisiana in the 90’s.

Jessica Skipper serves as the Student Success Systems Administrator for the University of Alaska ²ÊÉñix¹ÙÍø (UAF) Office of the Registrar, a position she has held since April 2019. Before taking on this role, she was an administrative assistant in the Office of the Provost.

In her current position, Jessica manages and oversees the implementation, utilization, support, operations, administration, strategic planning, project management, and more of several EAB products. These include Nanook Navigator (Navigate360; Reports & Analytics), Navigate Student (Student Engagement Hub; Mobile App), and Academic Planner (Smart Guidance; Advanced Student Engagement; Program Advising Tools). She collaborates closely with various teams within the Office of the Registrar, including Degree Services, Catalog and Curriculum, Scheduling, Data Specialists, Student Information Systems Technicians, and the Registrar.

Jessica is deeply passionate about advocating for and supporting students on their unique educational journeys. She believes in the power of technology and its role in encouraging students to seek support and become more self-sufficient, such as through scheduling appointments. Additionally, Jessica is dedicated to creating efficiencies in workloads and processes for employees supporting students, ensuring a smooth and effective administrative environment.
