The UAF Military Health and Readiness Consortium (MiHRC) is committed to enhancing the health, resilience, and operational readiness of military personnel, veterans, and their families. MiHRC integrates culturally informed methodologies from the UAF Center for Alaska Native Health Research and military leadership to develop science-based tools that bolster mental health support and operational readiness for service members facing unique challenges in high-latitude and high-altitude homeland installations.

Empowering Leaders — Building Resilience

The men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, law enforcement, and emergency response teams dedicate their lives to protecting and serving others. The demands of these roles—both physical and emotional—can be immense, affecting not only those who serve but also their families. Tragically, suicide remains a persistent issue among these communities.

At the ²ÊÉñix¹Ù꿉۪ Military Health and Readiness Consortium (MiHRC), we are deeply committed to improving the health, resilience, and operational readiness of military personnel, veterans, and their loved ones. Many of our team members are veterans themselves, driven by a shared passion to strengthen organizational effectiveness and reduce the risk of suicide.

Our work begins at the ground level—within the unit—where we focus on developing strong, effective leadership. By equipping leaders to promote wellness and respond to the unique challenges of service life, we aim to build a culture of resilience that supports every member of the team.
