    Open applications: Introducing graduate students fellowships

    Center ICE supports two types of fellowships, and we are looking for applicants to apply for each of them for the spring 2024 semester. For graduate students interested in innovation, Center ICE offers an Innovation Fellowship. This fellowship partners with academic departments to combine a 10-hour fellowship with a 10-hour TA-ship through the interested students' department so that students can explore the world of innovation and gain hands-on experience working on innovative projects.

  • Business Students from UAF Join Alaska Angel Investor Conference

    Over the course of the last 12 weeks Alaska Center ICE and the UAF College of Business and Security Management (CBSM) Student Investment Fund (SIF) sent three students to the 2023 Alaska Angel Conference (AAC). The Alaska Angel Conference is a 12-week process of identifying, filtering, selecting, and managing a group angel investment. An angel investor is a private investor focused on financing small business ventures in exchange for equity. This year’s Alaska Angel Conference took 21 of Alaska’s best start-ups and 17 angel investors through the nuanced process of angel investing.

The competition, started in 2015, is hosted by UAF's Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship (Center ICE). Any innovation developed by UAF or University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) faculty, staff, and students using university resources or as part of a class is eligible for the IDEAs awards.
