On May 1, Asia Fee, a STEM content creator and UAF's own Content Creation Program coordinator, was invited by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers to attend their Optimism Engineered 2025 Gala in New York City.

The event was an inspirational celebration of leadership, innovation, and philanthropy to empower the next generation of engineers. Fee was also a special guest of Jay Flores, a fellow STEM creator, science show host, TV personality, and Next-Gen Award winner. Flores organized a panel of creators such as Ruha Tacey, Fernanda Sulantay, Janie Valdez, and Marizza Delgado (current reigning Miss New York, Forbes 30 Under 30 Awardee, and esteemed data scientist) to advocate STEM outreach while addressing science literacy on social media. As a part of the panel and representative of the university, Fee collaborated with several organizations and creators in attendance to advance educational opportunities in content creation.

The ²ÊÉñix¹ÙÍø is one of the only accredited establishments to offer an Occupational Endorsement Certification in Content Creation that can be completed entirely online. To learn more about the program and future events, contact Asia Fee at anfee@alaska.edu.
